Officer Gives Lesson To Black Teen Boys Flashing BB Gun

A Columbus police officer is being praised for the stern lesson he gave to two young black boys after he stopped them following a report that they had a gun. With his gun drawn, officer Peter Casuccio pulled up on the two boys, who were 13 and 11 years old, and ordered them to stop.

The younger boy reached into his waistband and pulled out a revolver but quickly dropped it to the ground. As the gun fell on the ground and broke, the officer realized it was a BB gun. After the situation was under control, Casuccio took the opportunity to teach the boys a valuable lesson.

In a video shared by the Columbus Police Department, Casuccio tells the boys: "This is getting kids killed all over the country," while holding a part of the broken BB gun.

He then explains to the boys that he received a call which said there was a report of "two young male blacks" who were brandishing a gun. The young boy explained that he was just holding the gun and said that he never pointed it at anybody.

"You can't do that dude. In today’s world, listen, that thing looks real bro."

After he finds out the boys ages, Casuccio asks them: "Do you think I want to shoot an 11-year-old? Do you think I want to shoot a 13-year-old? Do I honestly look like the type of dude who wants to shoot anybody, but do I look like the type of dude who will shoot somebody?"

Later in the video, the boy's mother shows up and Casuccio explained to her what had transpired.

"I pull up on them, and I'm not gonna lie to you, doing cop stuff, I drew down on them, while I'm rolling up on them in the car, he freaks out and he starts to pull the gun out of his waistband."

"He could have shot you for that. You know that?" the boy's mother said, interrupting Casuccio.

Casuccio finished the brief encounter with the two young boys by giving them something to think about when they went home.

“The last thing I ever want to do is shoot an 11-year-old, man. Because your life hasn’t even gotten started yet and it could have ended because I wouldn’t have missed. I could have killed you. I want to think about tonight when you go to bed. You could be gone. Everything you want to do in this life could have been over.”
