Mental Health Awareness Month
May is For Mental Health
The awareness factor for this month is mental health. A topic that has become less taboo over time and has garnered greater advocacy over the last few years.
Recognized in the United States since 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month began with the national organization, Mental Health America. Founded in 1909, the founder, Clifford W. Beers desired to create a reformed movement concerning mental health after witnessing and experiencing how mentally ill individuals were treated at institutions.
Take Care of You
