Prison Inmates Graduate and Become Ministers

A ministry program was brought to Texas 6 years ago after making excellent progress at Angola, Louisiana's state prison. Inmate Shawn Crump will graduate from a prison here in Texas. He will be certified throughout the prison system as a prison field minister and a counselor to help other inmates not make the same mistakes he has made.

Crump is serving a life sentence, which is one of the requirements it takes to be in the program. You must have a 10 year or higher sentence. This program is not for the rehabilitation of the person getting the degree so to speak but for them to be trained in a manor to rehabilitate others on their journey back out into the free world.

Crump states, "I can never give that person whose life I took, their life back, but I can help other men find life."
